Inuyama Castle in Inuyama City, Aichi is said to be the oldest among existing wooden castle towers designated as national treasures (alternative theories exist). The white castle tower standing on Kiso River cliffs is also called "Hakutei Castle" with its beautiful appearance famous.
Spectacular Views from Tower
Inuyama Castle tower is an existing 4-story wooden castle tower with spectacular views of the Kiso River, Inuyama cityscape, and Nobi Plain from the top floor. Especially during cherry blossom season, spectacular views of cherry trees along the Kiso River overlapping with the castle can be enjoyed.
Castle Town and Fireworks
South of Inuyama Castle is "Honmachi Street" retaining Edo-period castle town character with old merchant houses and souvenir shops lined up. At the annual July "Inuyama Festival Fireworks," fireworks are launched on the Kiso River for nighttime views of Inuyama Castle and fireworks.
