Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture, is a nature-rich region in Shikoku's southwestern area where agriculture, fishing, and forestry coexist. It is developing as a core city of the southern Iyo region surrounded by Uwajima, Ozu, and Yawatahama cities.
Unomachi Important Preservation District for Historic Buildings
Unomachi District in Uwa Town, Seiyo City, is an "Important Preservation District for Historic Buildings" retaining the atmosphere of an Edo-period merchant town and post town. The townscape of white walls, lattice windows, and earthen storehouses in rows is also called the "Small Kyoto of Iyo," with "Kaimei School (former Uwajima domain school)" (national Important Cultural Property) also remaining.
Agricultural and Food Culture Experiences
Seiyo City offers diverse agricultural experience programs including terraced rice field viewing, agricultural experiences, and straw craft experiences. Local agricultural products including "Nikomaru rice" and "Shirokawa free-range chicken" are also well-developed.
Base for Shikoku Karst
Seiyo City is an access base for the western side of Shikoku Karst. Located along the route heading to Shikoku Karst via National Route 197, local products can be purchased at roadside stations including "Forest Triangle Hat."

Car access is convenient from JR Uwajima Station or Yawatahama Station. Approximately 30 minutes from Uwajima via National Route 56.
