Hida Furukawa is an old townscape in Hida City, Gifu known for atmospheric townscape with white-walled storehouses and sake breweries lined up. Accessible immediately from JR Takayama Main Line Hida-Furukawa Station, just 20 minutes from Takayama City.

Setogawa River and White-Walled Storehouses

The Setogawa River flowing through the center of Hida Furukawa creates beautiful scenery in combination with white-walled storehouses. About 1,000 carp swim in the river, designated as Gifu Prefecture's Important Regional Cultural Property as "Setogawa River and White Wall Storehouse Street."

Sacred Site of "Your Name"

Hida Furukawa is known as one of the settings of director Makoto Shinkai's animated film "Your Name" (2016), popular as a sacred site pilgrimage spot for movie fans. Many fans visit as the Hida Furukawa station and townscape appear in the film.
