Awaji Puppet Theater with over 500 years of history is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The joruri performed with unique puppet manipulation technique transmitted in Awaji Island is a precious traditional performing arts heritage.

Tourist Spots

The Naruto whirlpools of Naruto Strait viewed from "Uzunoka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall" in Minami Awaji City are overwhelming. As the "island of flowers," Awaji Island also offers enjoyment at the world's largest-scale "Awaji Island Nijigen no Mori."
