Kobe's Chinatown

Nankinmachi is a Chinatown formed when Chinese residents concentrated there in the Meiji period, with over 100 shops in an approximately 270m ร— 100m area. A gourmet area particularly popular for food-walking dim sum, meat buns, and sesame dumplings.

Food Walking Gourmet

Abundant gourmet ideal for food walking including pork buns, fried gyoza, fried eight-treasure rice, sesame dumplings, and almond tofu ice cream. Many authentic Chinese restaurants also offer popular lunch yum cha courses.

Lunar New Year Festivals

During the Lunar New Year (Spring Festival) period in January-February each year, lively events like firecrackers, lion dances, and dragon dances are held. The Spring Festival revived after COVID is particularly popular with foreign tourists.

Kobe Tourism Circuit

Nankinmachi has excellent access, 3 minutes walk from JR Motomachi Station, for combined tourism with the Kitano ijinkan district, Kobe Port Harborland, and Sannomiya shopping area.
