One of Japan's Three Great Inari Shrines

Kasama Inari Shrine, along with Fushimi Inari in Kyoto and Yutoku Inari in Saga, is one of Japan's three great Inari shrines. Founded as early as 712, it is venerated for business prosperity and abundant harvests.

Magnificent Wisteria

The wisteria trees in the shrine grounds are designated natural monuments, producing spectacular purple blooms in April and May. The "Kasama Wisteria Festival" draws thousands and is considered Japan's finest wisteria spot.

Combined with Kasama Pottery

The area around the shrine is lined with Kasama-yaki pottery shops. The "Himatsuri" pottery market during Golden Week is Japan's largest ceramic fair.
