Four Hot Spring Resorts with Individual Character

Kaga Onsen is the collective name for four hot spring resorts in Kaga City, Ishikawa: Yamashiro, Yamanaka, Awazu, and Katayamazu. Each has different character, with Yamashiro Onsen known for inns associated with Kitaoji Rosanjin, and Yamanaka Onsen known as a hot spring resort enjoying gorge beauty.

Yamanaka Onsen's Gorge

Kakusen-kei in Yamanaka Onsen is a gorge continuing about 1.3km along Daishoji River, a walking course enjoying four-season scenery. It is a historically established hot spring resort also visited by Basho, where "Kakusen-kei Kawadoko" allows enjoying matcha and sweets while viewing the gorge.

Katayamazu Onsen and Shibayamagata Lake

Katayamazu Onsen is located on the shores of Shibayamagata Lake with lakeside hot spring inns lined up. Large-scale fireworks are held in summer, with fireworks reflecting on the lake surface being beautiful.
