Ancient Hot Spring in Manyoshu Poetry

Yugawara Onsen in Yugawara Town, Kanagawa is an ancient hot spring resort also celebrated in the Manyoshu (Nara period poetry anthology). Many Meiji-Taisho era writers and artists stayed here, known for a hot spring town fragrant with rich cultural heritage.

Valley Beauty and Hot Springs

The hot spring town spreading along the Chitosegawa River has distinctive inns in beautiful valley scenery. The valley showing different faces through fresh green, autumn foliage, and snow scenes enhances the hot spring romance.

Plum Grove Scenery

The "Yugawara Plum Grove (Makuyama Park)" reaches its best viewing period in February-March each year. About 4,000 plum trees dye the mountain in white, pink, and crimson, bustling with ume-viewing (plum viewing) tourists.
