Anpanman Museum: Kochi, Hometown of Yanase Takashi

Yanase Takashi (1919–2013), the creator of "Anpanman," is from Kami City (formerly Tosayamada Town), Kochi Prefecture. The "Yanase Takashi Memorial Hall Anpanman Museum" built in Kami City, Kochi Prefecture, is a facility introducing the world of Anpanman and the art and life of Yanase Takashi.

Anpanman Museum Exhibits

The interior consists of two facilities: "Anpanman Poetry and Fairy Tale Picture Book Hall" and "Anpanman Museum." Original picture book artwork by Yanase Takashi, handwritten manuscripts, and diorama exhibits of all Anpanman characters are gathered — content that fans cannot resist.

Life Philosophy of Yanase Takashi

Yanase Takashi is the unique individual whose Anpanman became a major hit when he was over 70. The author's life philosophy of "bringing joy" and "giving courage" is embedded in Anpanman, providing deep emotion not only to children but also to adults.

Near Kami City is "Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto" (figure museum). Also, the Monobe River basin nearby is a nature-rich area where activities including fishing and gorge walking can be enjoyed.
