Tosa Kuroshio Railway: Spectacular Local Railway Running Along the Pacific

"Tosa Kuroshio Railway" running along Kochi Prefecture's east-west is a spectacular local railway with magnificent Pacific scenery along the route. Composed of two lines: "Gomen-Nahari Line" (between Gomen and Nahari, approximately 43 kilometers) and "Nakamura-Sukumo Line" (between Kubokawa and Sukumo).

Spectacular Views of Gomen-Nahari Line

The "Gomen-Nahari Line" is a route running along the Pacific coast, with seaside scenery including Aki City, Geisei Village, and Nahari Town enjoyable. There are also elevated sections that seem to run over the sea, with the train journey feeling the deep blue Pacific close by being exceptional. Each station having characters designed by local children is also famous for having "unique stations."

Nakamura-Sukumo Line and Shimanto River

The "Nakamura-Sukumo Line" is a route running from the upper to lower reaches of the Shimanto River, with the Shimanto River's clear stream enjoyable from the window. Near "Ekawasaki Station" along the route is the upper reaches of the Shimanto River, also famous as a place that has recorded Japan's highest temperature in summer.

Sightseeing Train "Shimantoro-kko"

The sightseeing trolley train "Shimantoro-kko" running along the Shimanto River operates for limited periods. The Shimanto River's nature can be fully enjoyed from open-air passenger cars.

Access
