Opened in 1955, Toba Aquarium keeps over 900 species, making it Japan's largest scale aquarium. The variety of displays from marine animals to river creatures is its charm.

Dugong Display

The greatest attraction is seeing the rare dugong up close, one of only two places in Japan (and the world) that keep them. Dugong feeding time and explanation sessions are particularly popular.

Walruses and Sea Otters Too

Walrus performance shows and sea otter feeding times are very popular with children, along with sea lion shows and other entertainment.

Base for Ise-Shima Tourism

Toba City is close to Ise Jingu and pairs well with nearby spots like Shima Spain Village and Mikimoto Pearl Island. Toba Bay cruises can also be combined.
