Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort in Nozawa Onsen Village, Shimotakai District, Nagano has 43 ski and snowboard courses with expansive slopes. A large-scale ski resort with 1,085m elevation difference enjoyable from beginners to advanced. It was a venue for biathlon and cross-country skiing at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.

Free Public Bath Touring

The greatest appeal of Nozawa Onsen is that 13 "sotoyu (public baths)" in the village are freely open. Public baths including "Oyu" are communal baths managed by local residents, offering high-quality hot springs despite simple construction.

Nozawa Greens and Local Sake

Nozawa Onsen's specialty is pickled greens "Nozawa-na (Nozawa greens)," a Brassica vegetable. Nozawa-na pickles are Shinshu's representative pickles, nationally popular as Nagano souvenirs.
