Huis ten Bosch: Kyushu's Largest Resort Themed on the Netherlands
"Huis Ten Bosch" in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, is one of Japan's largest theme parks (by area) — approximately 152 hectares — precisely recreating Dutch palaces and street scenery. Since opening in 1992, approximately 3 million visitors annually from Japan and abroad visit as Kyushu's largest tourist spot.
Four Seasons Flower Events
Huis ten Bosch is also known as a "flower theme park," with various events held throughout the year including spring Tulip Festival (1 million tulips), summer sunflowers, autumn cosmos, and winter illuminations (13 million LEDs). The winter "Kingdom of Light" is particularly famous as Japan's largest illumination.
