The Spectacle of Whale Sharks
Kaiyukan, opened in 1990, is one of the world's largest class aquariums, known for the spectacular display of whale sharks swimming in the "Pacific Ocean" tank โ 9 meters tall and 5,400 tons capacity. About 30,000 creatures are displayed in 14 tanks.
Immersive Displays
The spiral descending structure centered on the "Pacific Ocean" tank allows observing fish from different heights โ near the surface, underwater, and at the seafloor. The dolphin and sea lion ring tank is also popular.
Tempozan Area
The Tempozan area around Kaiyukan has Tempozan Marketplace (food court, shopping), Tempozan Ferris Wheel, and Santa Maria (sailing ship cruise), providing a full day of entertainment.
Convenient Access
Convenient 5-minute walk from "Osakako" Station on Osaka Metro Chuo Line. Close to USJ and WTC in Nanko, ideal as a tourism hub for western Osaka.
