Nihondaira: Spectacular Plateau Overlooking Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, and Miho no Matsubara

Nihondaira is a 307m-elevation hilly area in Shimizu Ward/Suruga Ward, Shizuoka City, designated as a national scenic spot. Views of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, Izu Peninsula, Miho no Matsubara, and Southern Alps from Nihondaira are possible with especially clear day panoramas being overwhelming.

Nihondaira Dream Terrace

"Nihondaira Yume Terrace" renovated in 2018 is an observatory facility designed by architect Kengo Kuma. An observatory allowing 360-degree panoramic views, with night views certified as Japan Night View Heritage also spectacular.

Ropeway to Kunozan Toshogu

From Nihondaira, "Nihondaira Kunozan Ropeway" provides access to Kunozan Toshogu. The ropeway ride viewing Suruga Bay, Miho no Matsubara, and Mt. Fuji is spectacular, with courses touring Nihondaira and Kunozan Toshogu together popular.
