Uradome Coast: Sea Kayaking among Spectacular Rock Formations Carved by the Sea of Japan

Uradome Coast in Iwami Town, Iwami District, Tottori is a beautiful scenic spot also called "the Matsushima of San'in." As the core of San'in Coast National Park and San'in Coast Geopark, rock formations, caves, emerald green coves, and white sandy beaches form a complex coastline.

Spectacular Exploration by Sea Kayak

The real appeal of Uradome Coast is "sea kayaking." Paddling through transparent emerald green seas, entering caves, passing through gaps between rock formations — experiences unavailable through ordinary sightseeing. Beginner-friendly guided tours are well-equipped, allowing even kayaking novices to participate safely.

Viewing Rock Formations from Cruise Boats

For those who find sea kayaking difficult, cruise boats are also available. Boarding sightseeing boats departing from Ajiro Port allows viewing of sheer cliffs, rock formations, and caves from aboard the vessel. Highlights continue including "Sengan Matsushima" and "Shiroyama Cliff."

Snorkeling on Sandy Beaches

In summer, snorkeling in the highly transparent waters of Uradome Coast is also enjoyable. Various fish and marine life can be observed in the rich marine ecosystem.
