Mogami River Boat Descent

The Mogami River flowing through Yamagata is a first-class river sourced from the Ou Mountains, flowing through the Shonai Plain into the Sea of Japan. Matsuo Basho traveled this river during his "Oku no Hosomichi" journey and composed the famous haiku "Samidare wo atsumete hayashi Mogami-gawa" (Gathering all the summer rains, how swift the Mogami River).
