Isawa Onsen: Famous Hot Spring of Koshu in Japan's Leading Peach Blossom Paradise
Accidentally Discovered Hot Spring Resort
Isawa Onsen is a hot spring resort in Fuefuki City, Yamanashi, a relatively new hot spring discovered in 1961 when hot water gushed from a grape farmer's field. Since then it rapidly developed into Koshu's leading hot spring resort with many inns and hotels lined up.
Journey of Koshu Wine and Hot Springs
Isawa Onsen is near Yamanashi's wine production area (Koshu City Katsunuma), allowing a journey combining hot springs and Koshu wine. Many inns offer bathing services using wine (wine baths), offering uniquely Yamanashi experiences.
Peach Blossoms and Hot Springs
Since Isawa Onsen is in Fuefuki City, in spring (April) surrounding peach orchards bloom magnificently, allowing simultaneous enjoyment of hot springs and peach blossom paradise scenery. Seasonal events including fireworks and hot spring festivals are also well-equipped.
