Takasago and Kakogawa

Harima Industry and Culture

Kakogawa City and Takasago City are industrial cities of the Harima Plain where iron and steel and chemical industries have developed, while also being regions with history and culture from ancient times. High salt production tradition remains in Takasago, and Harima Bay seafood is abundant.

Oshiko Shrine Sacred Object

Oshiko Shrine in Takasago City enshrines a massive stone structure called "Ishi no Hoden" (Stone Treasure Hall) as its sacred object. This mysterious stone structure counted among Japan's Three Wonders is a rare shrine also attracting archaeological attention.

Kakogawa's Local Industries

Kakogawa City is known as the birthplace of "Katsumeshi" B-class gourmet (fried meat with demi-glace sauce). Hot spring facilities at Kakogawa Onsen and Mitoro-so also offer natural hot springs.

Harima Bay Seafood

Fresh seafood is abundant in Takasago and Kakogawa facing Harima Bay. Octopus, conger eel, and yellowtail are local specialties, with fresh seafood purchasable at fishing port direct sales shops.
