Nada Sake: Highest Quality Japanese Sake Produced in Japan's Number One Sake Region
Nada Sake
Japan's Number One Sake Region
Nada-Gogo (Nishi-go, Mikage-go, Uozaki-go, Nishinomiya-go, Imazu-go) produces about 40% of Japan's sake, the largest sake producing area. Famous brands like Kikumasamune, Kenbishi, Hakutsuru, and Sawanotsuru originate here.
Miyamizu
Supporting Nada sake quality is high-quality hard water called "Miyamizu." Subterranean water from the Rokko mountain system, low in iron that inhibits yeast fermentation and rich in minerals. This water produces Nada sake's characteristic dry, crisp taste.
Sake Brewery Tours
Many sake breweries in the Nada-Nishinomiya area offer tours and tastings. Japanese sake production processes and history can be learned at "Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum," "Kikumasamune Sake Brewery Memorial Hall," and "Hamafukutsuru Ginjo Workshop."
Sakeshingkan
"Sakeshingkan," operated by Ishizawa Brewing famous for Fukuju, is a complex facility promoting sake culture. Rich with museum, restaurant, and shop, sake with Kyoto kaiseki course cuisine can also be enjoyed.
