Toyama Black is a local ramen originating in Toyama City, said to have originated when ramen with dense soy sauce soup containing high salt content was made for manual laborers during the postwar recovery period. Enough soy sauce is used to make the soup appear jet black, topped with plenty of chopped green onion and black pepper.

Uniquely Rich Flavor

Toyama Black soup is very salty, shockingly rich for first-time eaters. Also called "ramen for eating with rice," locals commonly eat it paired with a bowl of rice.
